    Heidi is a transformational guide and spiritual healer. She holds a Masters in Philosophy, Reiki Level II and is an RYT-certified vinyasa, hatha and meditation teacher with over +500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training. "Pulled by a heart-felt recognition and a deep love for the symbolism and the poetry of the body, she teaches yoga and meditation to people from all experiences, shapes, ages and dreams. Ultimately concerned with the soul, Heidi practices the ancient healing arts of soul astrology and tarot, as well as Akashic Records Reading one-on-one. She continues her journey through literature, plant medicine, quantum physics, epi-genetics, relationships (“the yoga of the West”), and the teachings of the Tibetan Master Djwal Kuhl. She also co-hosts What Is Hip (show on Radio Vibration, Brussels).

    Welcome back to EMBODY: Bits to build the life you crave! I decided to bring this podcast back, this time featuring other folks who are building the life they crave.

    In this "first" episode of EMBODY featuring people, I sit down with my dear friend Garrett Wood to talk about stillness. Garrett is a mindset coach, fitness expert, author, podcast host, and powerlifter.

    Garrett's first book and her podcast are both titled Dare to Move, yet she's dedicated this year to practice stillness. In this conversation, we dive into the why and how to embrace stillness. Garrett shares her journey from being always "high output" and "cold calling the universe" to slowing down and being open to being, receiving, and creating.

    To close, Garrett leaves us with a poem that inspires us to embrace stillness. "Turning inward, the gift of the present."

    Today's thoughts: There are so many factors that feed into how we perceive our body, both positive and negative. If we start to notice patterns, we can start to breakdown negative body image while it's happening.

    What prompted this: Noticing how the perception of my body had changed in just a matter of hours after working out.

    Workshop it: Next time you catch yourself with bad body image - start to think about what else is going on in your life (what have you eaten, how have you moved - or not moved, your mood, etc.). Write it down. Do the same with positive body image. Start to use these patterns to come to terms with your body image.
