Ep 243: BE-ing self-caring vs DO-ing self-care

SelfKind with Erica Webb

DO-ing self-care is the common approach to incorporating self-care into your life. But I'm proposing that BE-ing self-caring is actual the more useful approach.

To DO self-care, we have to carve out time to do things that we love. That's not a bad thing at all. But what happens when we don't have the time? What happens when life gets busy or life-y, as it's so prone to do?

That's where a relationship of self-caring comes into its own.

In this episode you will hear:

  • The difference between DO-ing vs BE-ing self-care
  • The relationship between BE-ing self-caring and the actions of self-care (because you'll still DO stuff, it's just not the foundation)
  • The choice you need to make to set up this shift in relationship with yourself
  • The impact being self-caring has on your relationship with yourself and your nervous system.
