Ep 79: Sex & Love Addiction with Brianne Davis The Relationships Show

    • Society & Culture

This episode contains references to addiction and mental health. If you need support, please reach out to an addiction group or therapist in your area or if it's urgent and you are in Australia, call Lifeline for free on 131114.

On this episode, we are joined by the divine Brianne Davis all the way from LA (one of our favourite parts of the world)! Brianne is the author of the book "Secret Life of a Hollywood Sex & Love Addict" as well as the host of podcast Secret Life.

Brianne talks vulnerably and openly about her experience as a sex and love addict and how that played out in her life. She shares her struggles in relationships and overall life to truly be able to put herself first, talks us through the recovery process and how this changed her entire life.

This is a really candid chat about co-dependency at its core, how it can severely impact all those involved when played out in the shadow. Sex and love addiction is co-dependency, that need to be loved and seen and acknowledged and Brianne discusses this really well in this episode.

She also talks about the light side, her marriage and parenting and her commitment to helping others through her own experiences and sharing her story. Brianne has spoken at jails, in recovery groups and many other places about the importance of putting the relationship you have with yourself first.

Ah such an insightful episode and something really different for us, we loved having Brianne on! Go follow her at @thebriannedavis and grab her book via her website briannedavis.com - She's a gem!
