Episode 19 - From Lumbar Punctures to Fearless Faith with Nathan Cavaleri You Can Shine

    • Self-Improvement

Strap into your seat as you listen to this special podcast interview with Nathan Cavaleri. You may recognise the name – Nathan Cavaleri began playing guitar at the tender age of 5 and was regularly featured on Hey Hey It’s Saturday. What you may not know is that by the age of 6, Nathan was diagnosed with leukaemia – he continued playing guitar to take his mind off the disease. He got to meet and play guitar with the legendary Mark Knofler from Dire Straits who described his guitar playing as ‘unbelievable.’ He received chemotherapy treatment and, by May 1993, he was in remission.

Regarded as a child prodigy, Nathan was later trained by, and at age thirteen, eventually toured with, B.B. King. King described Nathan as “the future of the blues”. In May 1992 Nathan released his debut single, “Little Egypt”, which was a cover version of Elvis Presley’s track from 1964, and peaked at No. 63 in Australia.

Nathan Cavaleri has worked with Jimmy Barnes, Diesel and Tommy Emmanuel. His debut album peaked at No. 33 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

This episode examines what it takes to keep life in check, to keep your health in check, and to keep your mental and emotional wellbeing steady and strong.

We talk of many life themes including faith, fear, mental health, passion, depression, burnout, anxiety attacks, resilience, and mindfulness.

Learn from a man who has transformed adversity into opportunities to learn, grow and serve. Listen to how he used his guitar for healing and to express and digest his emotions. Hear how fierce emotions of pain, anger, charge and frustrations have become inspiration for storytelling and song writing.

Nathan talks about the importance of family support, integrative medicine, and clinical nutrition, and he shares practical daily strategies to tap out of your head and anchor back into the body.

Tune in, open your mind and heart, and be inspired.
