The Color of Friendship - A Disney Channel Original Movie Podcast Joel Myers, Kiely Fong, Ivan Clark, Josh Park

For what I am bout to share with you, I would prefer if one of the other hosts read it, preferably Kiely Fong.

I am an Uber driver who operates in San Joaquin Valley, for the purposes of this story you can call me "Mark". I was doing some work in one the cities in San Joaquin Valley when I was offered to pick up a new rider, I swiped and took the job. "Josh" was the name of my rider, and if you experienced what I experienced you would never forget the name Josh. As I arrived to the pick up spot, I saw that Josh was a tall Asian teen who was well dressed but was inexplicably was wearing brightly coloured crocs as his footwear. When he got into the passenger side and said “Hello Mark”, he seemed pleasant enough. I said hello and offered him some water and mints as I pulled into traffic, he said no and we continued on our way. As I drove, NPR was playing on the radio, Josh broke the silence and asked if he could play some music on his Iphone instead, as an Uber driver who cares about being accommodating to his riders I said “yes”. He quickly pulled an aux cable out and plugged in his phone into the stereo system of my car. By the look of Josh I was expecting the music to be some radio pop, some emo maybe ? But what came out of the speakers really surprised me.

The sound of a deep voiced man came over the speakers, he said the following “According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get it's fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.”. I asked Josh “Hey is this a podcast ?”, “Quiet” he replied “Quiet”. At first the voices sounded normal in pitch, but incrementally the pitch and speed of voices grew. I drove in silence, listening to the indecipherable noise. We arrived a little early at the destination, I looked over at Josh and said “we're here”, but he did not respond, transfixed by the now screechy voices booming in the car. I just sat there and waited.

When the noise finally finished he snapped out of it, unplugged the phone and said “Thanks for the ride Mark, if you want me to give you a five star Uber rating you better give my podcast a five star rating too”, he put a card on the passenger seat which read “The Color Of Friendship A DCOM Podcast” and quickly got out my car. I was relieved it was over.

Well here's your 5 star rating Josh, here it is. I share my story here as a warning to those to Uber/Lyft for a living. Don't let the teens play music/noise in your car.
