The Wall Street Journal first reported on this earlier this month, and soon after, Byron Allen, a former comedian turned entertainment mogul, and Sean "Diddy" Combs, the famous hip-hop artist, also expressed their interest in bidding for BET. Although a sale is not confirmed yet, it's generating a lot of excitement and speculation. If a sale does happen, it could mean that BET will have Black owners for the first time in over two decades, which would be a significant and exciting change.
