Not quite 5 stars

This is a fabulous premise for a podcast and I eagerly downloaded both seasons after a recommendation from a friend.
It has the potential to be sensationalist (child abuse! hidden racial identities! secret second families!). Thankfully it is beautifully produced with gentle and thoughtful interviewing by the host, writer Dani Shapiro. Details such as announcing the break for the advertising (“we’re going to take a short break”) meant that the flow of the stories was not interrupted by a potentially jarring advertisement.
My only criticism is that some key details seemed to be missing (or withheld?) from
many of the stories. I found this quite frustrating at times (was that abuser ever prosecuted? what was the biological mum doing for all those years?) but I wondered if that was because many of the interviewees had written memoirs or produced docos about their secrets.
Looking forward to more episodes.
