    Male Fertility Testing at Home

    Male Fertility Testing at Home

    www.exseedhealth.com ( https://exseedhealth.com/ )

This week we spoke in-depth with the Head of Medical Affairs at ExSeed Health, Dr Fatin Willendrup. Listen as we discuss how at home male fertility testing and ExSeed works, why it’s important to know about sperm quality and the accuracy of ExSeed’s test.

You’ll hear about the benefits of at home testing vs at a doctor’s or in a fertility clinic, what happens if the result shows a problem with sperm and the great support offered.

Dr Willendrup had ICSI herself and her third child naturally, after adopting various lifestyle changes. She talks about her own story and what men can do generally to improve sperm quality (maybe together with the female partner), to optimize their chances when trying to conceive.

    Fertility Hormone Levels

    www.johnwass.org.uk ( http://www.johnwass.org.uk/ )

This week we welcomed highly experienced fertility hormone specialist, Professor John Wass, from Oxford University.

Listen in full below as he explains what ovulation is, when ovulation occurs and what common ovulation signs can be (such as cramping). He tells us more about the luteal phase – its meaning, length (short luteal phase) and symptoms.

If you’re trying to conceive and are worried about your thyroid or PCOS, Dr Wass explains whether thyroid is hereditary and how Clomid (Clomiphene) may help those struggling with PCOS. ( https://www.fertilityhelphub.com/blog/pcos-womens-wellness-centre?rq=pcos )

Male Infertility ( https://www.fertilityhelphub.com/blog/male-factor-infertility-azoospermia-micro-tese?rq=male+infertility ) – we discuss causes, symptoms and treatment of infertility with HCG, as well as fertility issues from pituitary tumours.

Last but by no means least, we talk about the importance of prolactin levels when trying to conceive and how this may affect implantation.

With Fertility Week coming to an end, we felt it important to speak to a rather brilliant voice for male infertility. Statistically, in approximately half of couples experiencing difficulties when trying to conceive, part of the problem lies with the man. Male infertility has a variety of causes and factors, so today we hear Toby Trice’s ( https://tobytriceracing.com/ ) personal experience of fragmented sperm, as well as the effect the stress that trying to conceive and fertility tests / treatment has had on his relationship.

Hear the great things that Toby is doing in the fertility space, to raise awareness around male infertility and to also offer much-needed support. Links above to contact him for support.

    Having Babies after 35

    Having Babies after 35

This week on our Fertility Springboard Podcast ( https://www.fertilityhelphub.com/fertility-springboard-podcast ) , we had the pleasure of being joined by guest, Shannon M. Clark, MD, MMS, FACOG ( https://babiesafter35.com/shannon-clark-md-mms/ ) *,* a double board certified Obstetrician, Gynecologist and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist in Texas, to discuss the implications of having babies after 35.

Dr. Clark has taken a special interest in pregnancy after the age of 35, which according to age alone, is considered a high-risk pregnancy. She was inspired not only by the experiences of friends and patients, but also by her own personal experience of trying to conceive at the age of 40. Dedicated to her education, training and career for 15+ years, Dr. Clark married at the age of 39 and began trying to start her family at age 40. After five failed cycles of IVF, she was able to become pregnant via an egg donor and delivered twins Sydney Renée and Rémy Vaughn in September 2016.

Listen as we discuss Dr. Clark’s personal story of having babies after 35 via an egg donor and what women should consider when trying to conceive later in life. Dr. Clark also gives her thoughts on celebrities who’ve had babies after 35 and whether this gives false hope.

As a women’s health writer, she has written for The Huffington Post, Mind Body Green, Glamour, Houston Moms Blog, Self Magazine and The Washington Post.

The month of October marks pregnancy and baby loss in the USA, as well as the UK. One of our Fertility Help Hub ( https://www.fertilityhelphub.com/ ) readers is generous enough to share their personal story on our podcast, to help raise awareness of the reality of stillbirth and how their daily grief lives on. Sarah also discusses a world of support that she didn’t know existed before their trauma.

Listen as we discuss the meaning of stillbirth, the trauma of having a stillborn baby, the support available and how stillbirth quotes help.

Sarah bravely tells us about the cause of her daughter’s stillbirth and she describes the enormous emotional and physical trauma of Harper’s birth.

It was hard to keep back the tears as we talked through this sad experience of baby loss, which affects too many people.

Thank you Sarah for sharing and bringing awareness to baby loss.
