On this episode of Open Mike, Dr. Thiessen is joined by Ryan Lauterio, founder of the Maker Institute, who discusses the importance of art in the Christian faith and the need for Christians to engage in the arts. He emphasizes that art is not neutral and can it be. It's either humanizing or dehumanizing in accord with the Word of God. Lauterio encourages Christians to be grateful for the arts and to push for excellence in their creative endeavors. He also addresses the false dilemma of quality versus budget, stating that Christians can make good art without needing a large budget. Lauterio calls for the church to take a vested interest in supporting and promoting Christian art.
