300 episodes

In 2007, The Football Ramble was born out of Luke Moore, Pete Donaldson, Marcus Speller and Jim Campbell’s passion for the most popular sport in the world—as well as a shared inability to take themselves too seriously. Since then, the boys have come a very long way: from a best-selling book to sold out live shows.

Now, with the return of football post-lockdown, the Football Ramble brings you daily episodes of equal parts insight and hilarity. All this and more, Monday through Saturday. Lend us your ears and we’ll keep you up to date with the latest stories from the Premier League and all around Europe, all with an eye for both the sublime and the ridiculous.

The Blizzard: Watford 4-0 QPR, 1982

We're joined by the Mail On Sunday's Rob Draper for today's episode of Greatest Games (in association with The Blizzard) and we’re discussing a clash of English managerial greats!

When Graham Taylor's Watford took on Terry Venables' QPR in the Second Division in 1982, it represented a pivotal moment in the tactical history of English football. Marcus, Jonathan and Rob sit down to discuss this classic battle of pressing vs possession, and the similarity between this and the modern battles of Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp.

Fulham secure promotion, Willian looks set to join Arsenal, and how will Alexis Sánchez be remembered?

Fulham secure promotion, Willian looks set to join Arsenal, and how will Alexis Sánchez be remembered?

Kate, Jim and Vish are in the studio as Fulham secured the Championship’s final promotion spot with a hard-fought victory over Brentford – all thanks to Scott Parker’s lovely wholesomeness.

We also get stuck into some interesting transfer news, as Willian and Alexis Sánchez look destined to move on to Arsenal and Inter Milan respectively. We then reflect on Danny Rose’s comments around the racial targeting he regularly suffers and run the rule over Spurs’ potential new signing, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg!

Bring back the old lineup.

Still a good pod but the experiment mixing the lineups isn’t working. When it went daily the new shows where good but the jewel in the crown was always the two shows with the 4 lads together. Breaking them up to work with the other presenters just waters it down too much and takes away from what made it great in the first place.
