Warren Jobbitt Interview - Shifting roles, learning from injuries snd skiing better than ever

Warren Jobbitt is a legend within the ski industry and for good reason. His experience as well as thirst for knowledge and clear instruction is among the greatest I have come across. And if you watch any of his recent videos on YouTube you will see that at 50 years old he is skiing smoother and technically better than he ever has (his own words and I agree!). Tune and see what you can learn from Warren I think you will really enjoy it.

Harry Laidlaw - Australia’s best GS skier competing on the World Cup

Harry Laidlaw - Australia’s best GS skier competing on the World Cup

Harry Laidlaw grew up skiing Mt Hotham in Australia and is currently one the best GS ski racers Australia has seen in a long time. Unfortunately Harry injured his knee days after competing in the season WC race opener in Solden, Austria. In this episode Sam Robertson and Tom Gellie talk with Harry about what its like to train and compete with all the Covid regulations as well his journey to competing on the world stage.

There are some interesting points to come out of this interview and its your chance to hear first hand from a top level athlete what sort of things they are dealing with physically and mentally. One particularly interesting segment is where Harry talks about switching equipment and how that change made a big difference in his ability to get results.
I hope you enjoy this episode.

Tim Cafe - ex Olympian and Alice Robinson’s former race coach

Tim Cafe - ex Olympian and Alice Robinson’s former race coach

This episode features Tim Cafe ex Olympian and former coach to WC ski phenom Alice Robinson. Why would you listen to this episode? For at least three reasons.

Tim talks to us about binding placement and delta. Two things critical that most skiers do not consider and do not play with much. If you do you know how big a difference it can make. Tim has already been playing with his bindings on different skis this season.Tim has coached Alice Robinson right up until she made the World Cup. Hear some of his stories and insights into Alice’s Skiing. He even played with her binding position at times without her being aware. Why? Listen to find out.Tim takes nothing for granted. If someone says you shouldn’t do it this way he will test and experiment himself. Do the work to figure it out and make his own mind up about it. I hope that after this episode the listener feels more confident in doing some of this themselves and taking ownership of whatever it is they are trying to learn or master.
I hope you enjoy this episode it was one of my favourites. I say that every time I think, I really enjoy being able to talk skiing and then you the listener tune in like you were there too. If you have any feedback from this or any other episode please get in touch via the bigpictureskiing.com website.

    Cheers Tom Gellie
