GREEN AND GRITTY FAMILY... WE ARE BACK. We took some time off for our own personal research endeavors but we missed y'all too much to stay away any longer. We get right into the shit today talking about all the extreme weather events we’ve been seeing here in the GTA, including the ocean being on fire :’) We dive right into pipeline gas leaks, oil spills and the deeply rooted impacts they have on aquatic life, human communities, our planet and climate change as a whole, and even the economy.

We told y'all we were getting grittier this season! On this week's episode we revisit the topic of Greenwashing and provide some examples of companies that have been accused of it! We then enter the corporate callout portion of the show and highlighted actions of Nestle and Coca Cola that have had devastating impacts to not only the planet, but also in terms of human rights! This is a spicy one you don't want to miss!

This week's episode covers the basics of how protected areas are chosen, identifies the difference between conserving marine and terrestrial areas, AND discusses the highly controversial Highway 413 project which has been re-proposed by the Ontario Government. This is a VERY big topic but this episode aims to break down the fundamentals and help you get more involved in Conservation and Preservation efforts in your local area!

We are back and grittier than ever! Our first episode of season two comes just in time for Earth Day. This episode the Green and Gritty gals reintroduce themselves and provide a breakdown on the history and significance of Earth Day. We wrap up with some ways you can celebrate the earth for Earth Day (April 22nd) and every day of the year! Buckle you seat belts, we were so excited to get back to recording, this episode is a wild ride from start to finish!

This week Green and Gritty had the pleasure of talking to Kelsey Irvine, the Creative Director of the sustainable beauty company Birch Babe Naturals. We discussed all things clean beauty related such as: what makes packaging sustainable, how to thrive economically as an eco-conscious company, what sustainable beauty can look like at individual and corporate levels.
