… And was then responsible for slavery, rape, and the wiping out of a few hundred thousand Indigenous people.
In this episode, we give a highlight reel of some of Columbus’ most well-documented atrocities, and then Marti shares about a recent discovery that provided proof of cannibalism in Colonial Jamestown.

So, gather 'round and listen to the terrible tale of Sanford's very own headless ghost. Then stick around for our Coffin Talk segment to hear about some unusual ways to pay your final respects!

    Creepy Things Found in Houses

    Creepy Things Found in Houses

Inspired by the process of selling our home and moving into a new one, I decided to research creepy things that have been found in houses and the results did not disappoint! Dead bodies are just the start of the creepiness in this episode.

Then, in another Coffin Talk segment, Marti shares an embalming story that reminds her of a 90's country song.

Halloween Murders Not Committed by Michael Myers

Halloween Murders Not Committed by Michael Myers

It probably shouldn't have surprised me just how many murders have been committed on Halloween, but it did.
In this episode, we cover just a few of the more heinous or noteworthy ones; including the reason behind why parents became so diligent about checking their children's Halloween candy, a deadly prank, a 50s lesbian love affair, and a guy who couldn't remember whether or not he'd had sex with a corpse. Enjoy!

It’s Just A Story, Don’t Lose Your Head!

It’s Just A Story, Don’t Lose Your Head!

Does anyone else remember that children’s scary story book called In A Dark, Dark Room? I LOVED that book, but to this day story number 3... also known as The Green Ribbon... also known as the story that kept me from a peaceful night’s sleep for weeks... still gives me chills.
I don’t know if it was the creepy artwork that accompanied the story or the fact that I was absolutely NOT PREPARED for how dark the ending is that made this story stick with me. What I can tell you is that it is pure nightmare fuel. Maybe you’ve never heard of The Green Ribbon before, but if you have then you know exactly what I’m talking about... or maybe you’d been able to bury it somewhere deep in your subconscious and BAM now it’s back. You’re welcome!
This week I talk about the origins of this infamous story and it’s dark ties to the French Revolution. Then Britany dives a bit deeper during the Morbid Curiosities segment and we learn even more dark history facts about the French Revolution, but don’t lose your head, they’re just stories... right?
