HOLISTIC HEALTHCARE with Michelle Woolhouse One Question

    • Personal Journals

If there was one thing you think society should talk more about, what would it be?“I would like our society to talk about the invisible load of culturally sanctioned stress, holistic principles in health care and the importance of looking within for wisdom, self respect and self compassion. “______________________“It is not only until we explore the whole person, that true health can be found”. These words resonate so deeply with me given my complicated health journey and I’ve been looking forward to sitting down with today’s guest to discuss this topic further.  Dr Michelle Woolhouse is an integrative GP, author, podcaster & medical director with over 23 years of experience in this space. Her special interests include women’s health, mental health issues, such as anxiety, stress and burn-out, mind-body medicine and the neurobiology of healing.   Dr Michelle loves exploring all facets of health with her patients, including nutritional and lifestyle requirements, mental and emotional underpinnings and of course social and environmental influences. She particularly loves teaching emotional transformation techniques and supporting mental health in the context of physical diseases.  Dr Michelle has additional post-graduate training in mind-body medicine, meditation, energetic healing, nutritional and environmental medicine and holds fellowships with the Royal Australian College of GP’s (FRACGP), the Australasian society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) and Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (FACNEM). Given I wrote a book about taking control of your own health & wellbeing, I have been looking forward to sitting down with Dr Michelle to get her view on a few things in the medical space. Please enjoy this wonderful conversation with Dr Michelle Woolhouse.  We talked about how to find a local holistic practitioner in your area - here’s the links;-* Australian Integrative Medicine Association (http://aima.net.au)  (http://aima.net.au)* Australian college of Nutritional & Environmental Medicine Inc  (https://www.acnem.org/)* Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (https://lifestylemedicine.org.au/) For more information about Michelle, check out these places;-Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theholisticgp/ (https://www.instagram.com/theholisticgp/)Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-michelle-woolhouse-505a9172/ (https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-michelle-woolhouse-505a9172/)
