Find Someone Who's Turning - Jessica Roemischer and Garth Webber

Mr. Garth Webber, my fabulous guitar-master-colleague joins me for this podcast--an intermingling of guitar, vocal narrative, piano and song, that gives rise to story and message. This one is inspired by Neil Young's prescient encouragement, "Don't Let It Bring You Down." In the midst of everything we're grappling with, individually and as a human species, 50 years ago Neil Young gave us marvellous insight: "Find someone who's turning," those who are glimpsing the Light, the movement towards a new world, the goodness that's there inside each of us. Find these beautiful people, and that place in one's self, and allow it to turn us towards a New Future.

With heartfelt gratitude to Garth for the joys of our 'duets.'

A Story in Two Songs - Like a Rolling Stone and Red, Red Wine

A Story in Two Songs - Like a Rolling Stone and Red, Red Wine

A story told through two songs: In "Like a Rolling Stone," Bob Dylan really got what it's like to be uprooted. As I've played this timeless classic, the great Island song, "Red, Red Wine" kept coming to me. So this is a dialogue between a person who provides cautionary insight, and the friend who's become the ''rolling stone." In rhythm, chord progressions, and deep meaning, these two songs go together so well...

    Love in a Nanosecond

    Love in a Nanosecond

After decades of estrangement and difficulty, my mother's love, now, is something I'd longed for--but could hardly have imagined. In a moment, all the pain and hurt dissolve into a beautiful sea of warmth and...healing. And it happened, literally, in a nanosecond.

And I think, what an incredible and significant phenomenon, as I contemplate how: All the divisions of life, cultures, humanity, our personal relationships--everything--can heal in a moment, as a new world is born.

Listening, Friendship, Love - Featuring Garth Webber

Listening, Friendship, Love - Featuring Garth Webber

For this podcast episode, I am honored and delighted to present a new musical collaboration--with world-class guitarist, Garth Webber. Garth has played alongside the finest rock, blues and jazz musicians of our time--among them, Gregg Allman, John Lee Hooker, Dr. John, Robben Ford, Bill Champlin, Bob Weir and--Miles Davis--widely considered the most influential musician in the history of jazz.

The episode interweaves piano, guitar and voice, inspired by the compelling insights of Miles Davis. Indeed, Miles Davis has an uncanny sense of what makes music powerful and affecting. He speaks about silence, about listening, and he made a wide space for the musicians who played with him. And listening and space, dear friends, are the ground for real human connection between us all. x

My Heart, The World - Reflections on Our Future

My Heart, The World - Reflections on Our Future

As piano melodies flow through me, I offer insights into our lives, our world, and our souls. I'm inspired both by the beloved song, "Amazing Grace," born of a man's transfigured consciousness; and by an interview with Gregg Braden, renowned visionary and cutting-edge researcher/thinker. In a spontaneous flow, I share thoughts on who we are and where we're going, poised at this pivotal point in human life, and life on Earth.

Gregg Braden is interviewed by Michael Sandler on his Inspired Nation YouTube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxW0OfIa2DM
