Episode 33 homestyle Magazine: Alice Lines

Ever wondered what it takes to be the editor of a homes magazine? This is the episode for you! We sat down with Alice Lines, editor of one of our favourite magazines, homestyle. As our first international guest, we chatted with Alice whilst she was at home in New Zealand and explored the other side of magazines and the world of independent publishing. Under her tenure as editor, she has transformed the mag into one of the coolest, most aesthetically strong titles internationally, breaking the mould with style and personality in every page. As an independent title, there's an understanding to expand beyond the paper copy and we chat about all the different facets that homestyle is exploring, including a product line!

Both of us have had the honour of having our homes featured in the mag and it's our absolute pleasure to have Alice join us on this season. Brb, booking a trip to NZ immediately!

Episode 31 Becker Minty: Jason Minty

Episode 31 Becker Minty: Jason Minty

This week, we chat with the owner of the luxury boutique store Becker Minty - Jason Minty.

Becker Minty is THE go-to store for glamorous and eclectic homewares and art in Sydney. We describe his store as going on a treasure hunt, there are so many goodies you can't resist!

Jason has an interesting story, he studied abroad in China, was a flight attendant for Qantas before changing paths to opening a boutique store in Potts Point.

Jason has an exceptional eye for curating unique pieces and then introducing them to the Australian market.. A great example is Kelly Wearstler's homewares range, need we say more!

It's why interior designers and stylists flock to his store and art opening to see what homewares and art he is showcasing next. His passion to find eclectic and luxury pieces instead of stocking the same as other stores is a key factor to his success.

Jason tells us about his journey of being a store owner during the GFC, the current pandemic and how he manages to get through it and thrive, plus what's next.

    Episode 30 Antonia Perricone

    Episode 30 Antonia Perricone

Growing up in a tight-knit multi-cultural community in Sydney's western suburbs, Antonia was raised in a traditional Italian household where everything was made by hand, including her clothes. This interest in clothes landed her first job - assistant fashion stylist for David Jones's advertising department, at 16. She then became lead stylist for the brand and freelanced for other brands and a tv station.

After having children, her passion for art and desire to have an education grew strong, so she enrolled into art school at age 46. Since graduating, she has taken many leaps up the art world ranks to now one of Australia's leading artists. Her accolades all stem from just a simple longing to feel creatively fulfilled.

As friends of Antonia, we couldn't be prouder. Not only is she incredibly talented, she is also one of the kindest, most thoughtful and friendliest women in the art world. We are so excited to share her story with you.

Ken Done interview

The interview with Ken Done was by far the most enjoyable. I could have listened to Ken share his stories for hours. An avid fan of his since the early 80’s where I saved religiously so I could purchase his quilt cover. Living remotely at the time in outback SA his work brightened my world. His yearly diary release endured hours of pouring my heart on the pages. Thank you for bringing Ken to your show. He is a legend in my world. Excited that you guys are back next Tuesday for a fresh year of podcasts.

Love all things Interior Design!!

Been binging on the podcast and love it.

I’m an Interior Designer + Property Stylist and so of course have been loving your podcast. Even though I know most of the people or businesses you interview, I don’t often know their story and I’m finding it very interesting learning about their journeys and more about the businesses.
