    Property: Stop Buying Avocado Toast?

Hi hi hi! Today we are talking property ownership and we have the incredible Emily Wallace on the show to help us navigate the confusing area of buying your first home.

Emily is a buyers advocate by trade. Basically, she knows everything about buying a house and her whole job is to make it an easy and seamless process for you! She specialises in helping first home buyers to enter the property market without the overwhelming stress of the behind the scenes work.

Emily has her own consulting company, Emily Wallace Byers Advocate, and is passionate about property. She is the co-host of the popular podcast MyMillenial Property and just really really knows her stuff. According to her Instragram story last night, Emily is now the proud owner of two properties (and a thriving business, all before 28!)

To find out more about Emily and her work as a buyers advocate, you can find her:

    on instagram @emily_wallace_ba
    On her website emilywallace.com.au
Or streaming on Spotify or apple podcasts with MyMillenial Property

**SIDE NOTE: CAITLIN AND SAMARA ARE TEAM AVOCADO ON TOAST, DON'T LISTEN TO THE BOOMERS**

Employment: Is This The End of Working In Our Pajamas?!

Employment: Is This The End of Working In Our Pajamas?!

Hello friends, welcome back! On Friday, Daddy Dan announced that workers are free to return to the office without a cap on numbers (but still adhering to those pesky density levels). Whilst this is a resounding cornerstone of our hard work over the past year to return to "normal" life, it also spells the end of WFH arrangements for most office workers. Some are more pleased than others...

So today, we are taking you through your basic minimum employment rights (your National Employment Standards, or NES) and we discuss whether your NES rights give you grounds to request to continue to work from home. The short answer is possibly but it is best to chat to your employer or Fairwork once you know your basic rights!

Go forth pals, know your rights and live your best, well-informed life!

Law School: Six Years and All I Got Was This Lousy Email

Law School: Six Years and All I Got Was This Lousy Email

Hello dear listener friends! Today we are celebrating because on Friday 19 March 2021, one half of this podcast became a qualified Australian lawyer! After six long years of studying, Samara finally reached the end (or a beginning, depending on your levels of optimism)! Due to COVID, the usual fanfare of admission was replaced by a two line email. Fun.

So, to mark the most special occasion, this week's show takes you through Caitlin and Samara's journey to get to law school, how we are going with it (or went with it in Samara's case) and your comprehensive guide into how to become a lawyer - there are more steps than you'd think.

We hop you enjoy this more informal chat. Happy Wednesday pals!

    Employment: Bye Bye Bully

    Employment: Bye Bye Bully

Happy Wednesday folks! Today we have the lovely Alex on the show, going through workplace bullying with us. We have all had questionable workplaces (hospo @ 15, hello) or fallen victim to a mean boss or cruel co-worker. Alex, a passionate young employment lawyer, takes us through your options if you find yourself in this very situation. It is intriguing and so useful, and we are ridiculously grateful to Alex for giving up her time.

Alex is also an ambassador for Yes Queen, an Australian initiative addressing bullying in the workplace. Their mission is to future-proof wellbeing at work by erasing bullying and cultivating safe, positive and inclusive cultures. In Yes Queen's words...“We spend so much of our lives working; let’s make it an empowering and soul-nourishing experience for everyone”.

Super Knowledgeable

Caitlin and Samara obviously love diving into the deep dark world of contracts and laws. Great information and the episode on your rights with regards to gym terms was fantastic!

USA Inauguration Ep

Great pod. Very casual and easy listening. Just wanted to say the guests were great on their Inauguration ep. Yet, the hosts often sound like they’re doing a high school presentation. Please calm the sound effects that may be beneficial. Thanks!
