KNX In Depth: The Mooch on a memorable first debate -- Proud Boys, Antifa, lions, tigers & bears oh my -- Dogs go to work sniffing out coronavirus infections

Well the first debate between President Trump and former Vice President Biden was.........memorable. The president clearly intended to go on the offense and stay there, which he did; while Joe Biden worked hard to keep his cool and show a contrast to Trump, which he mostly did. Who won? *Can* you declare a winner? Or did we all lose? We'll go In Depth.
Who are the Proud Boys and what is Antifa? We'll take a closer look at the two extremists groups that both Trump and Biden blamed for stoking violence over the last few months.
And after President Trump once again refuses to commit to respecting the outcome on November 3rd, how many things can go wrong with this election?
Sweden has been held up both as an example of everything NOT to do in managing the coronavirus pandemic........and as a model of keeping the virus at bay while avoiding a total lockdown. So, which one is it?
And we're going to end on a very cool story: these dogs that are now being used to sniff out travelers possibly infected with the coronavirus at Helsinki's airport.........we're going to talk with one scientist who's training the very good boys.

KNX In Depth: Fight night, Biden vs. Trump round one -- Will the debates change any voters' minds? -- After 34 million people infected & over 1 million killed worldwide, why are we still several steps behind the coronavirus?

KNX In Depth: Fight night, Biden vs. Trump round one -- Will the debates change any voters' minds? -- After 34 million people infected & over 1 million killed worldwide, why are we still several steps behind the coronavirus?

It's fight night! Well........at least as much of a fight as you can expect between two politicians ..... in their 70's. The first debate between President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden is finally here.
We'll get a Democrat and Republican view of what should be expected from Trump and Biden---and what each candidate's priority list should look like.
And then we're going to take the entire debate format to task: no matter what goes down tonight, will anyone really change their minds? Who is truly undecided out there?
We've passed another awful milestone in the coronavirus pandemic: over 1-million people, worldwide, have now died from COVID-19. We are nearly 10 months into this, with second waves hitting all over the world. Do we have any better understanding of how this virus works..........do we have any better idea of how to stop it?
And the NFL has hit its first COVID speed bumps; will professional football manage to make it through a full season without scores of players and coaches eventually becoming infected?

KNX In Depth: Are Trump's tax issues really about national security? -- Latest COVID symptom: hair loss -- A hidden COVID casualty: the women's equal pay movement

The headlines screamed "President Trump paid only 750-dollars in federal income tax" and that by itself is a pretty big deal, evidence of a tax system that is in need of reforms. But dig a little deeper into the reporting on Trump's tax returns by the New York Times, and you find that the president of the United States is carrying over $420-MILLION in debts.......and that's potentially VERY problematic.
With President Trump's nominee to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg's seat on the Supreme Court official, there are many Democrats who are out for blood, insisting that Amy Coney Barrett will represent a second stolen Supreme Court seat. So is "packing the court" a realistic option? We'll ask.....
Add another possible strange symptom of COVID: hair loss. Long-haulers reporting hair loss, scientists aren't quite sure if it's the virus at work......or the stress
Another casualty of the pandemic: equal pay for women. We'll look at how more women have lost their jobs during all of this, and have had to put career advancement on hold to help home school their kids.
And at the end of the show, a look at very busy Russian hackers who will be doing their best to create all kinds of chaos ..... just over a month to go until election day.

Special KNX In Depth: A Time to Grieve, the stories of people lost to COVID-19 and the loved ones they've left behind

Special KNX In Depth: A Time to Grieve, the stories of people lost to COVID-19 and the loved ones they've left behind

There has been no singular "COVID event" during this pandemic.........nothing on par with what we saw on September 11, 2001, when we watched thousands of people die, all caught on camera in a gruesome spectacle. No, the over 200-thousand victims of the coronavirus died mostly lonely, isolated, agonizing deaths; away from cameras, hidden from crowds and often far away from family and friends. And that might, in part, explain why so many people in this country still aren't willing to take the pandemic seriously, in spite of an awful death toll that shows no signs of slowing down.
Earlier this week, when the country passed that grim 200-thousand death mark, we thought the victims of this virus deserved more than just a statistic; we wanted to hear their stories, how their lives were cut short, and learn about how the families they left behind are coping. So today we bring you an hour-long, commercial free special KNX In Depth: A Time to Grieve.
We are going to hear the stories of five people who have lost family members to COVID-19........and how they're grieving that loss at a time when grieving is not a straight-forward process. We hope to put names, personalities and emotions to that 200-thousand statistic and get a better sense of the true toll this pandemic has taken on millions of families.

KNX In Depth: How Trump might create election chaos -- You can probably stop wiping everything down out of COVID fear -- Peter Strzok, the former FBI agent attacked by Clinton & Trump alike

KNX In Depth: How Trump might create election chaos -- You can probably stop wiping everything down out of COVID fear -- Peter Strzok, the former FBI agent attacked by Clinton & Trump alike

President Trump has repeatedly been casting doubt on the results of the November 3rd election, with various conspiracy theories about mail-in ballots and counting votes well after election night---- but he upped the ante yesterday....when he said, should he lose, that he wouldn't necessarily commit to a peaceful transfer of power. Could the president, with a lot of help, turn this election into utter chaos?
Fears were rampant about reopening schools to in-class learning during the pandemic, but something interesting has been happening at the K-through-12 schools: outbreaks have been isolated, and for the most part students and teachers have stayed infection free. We'll take a closer look.
And should we all still be spending all of the time, money and effort wiping down every surface we come into contact with, for fear of picking up the virus?
Peter Strzok had a very unique view on the drama around the 2016 election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Not only did the former FBI agent look into Clinton's use of a private email server, he was an original member of Robert Mueller's team investigating Russia and the Trump campaign.
He was a target of attacks by the president himself, and the center of a scandal within the FBI..........Peter Strzok comes to In Depth to talk about his new book, "Compromised: Counterintelligence and the Threat of Donald J. Trump..."

KNX In Depth: No Louisville police officer directly charged w/involvement in Breonna Taylor's death -- 90% of Americans still susceptible to COVID infection, we aren't "rounding the corner" -- Adam Schiff talks reforming the federal government

KNX In Depth: No Louisville police officer directly charged w/involvement in Breonna Taylor's death -- 90% of Americans still susceptible to COVID infection, we aren't "rounding the corner" -- Adam Schiff talks reforming the federal government

One Louisville police officer out of the three that were possibly facing charges in the deadly raid on Breonna Taylor's apartment has been criminally charged; but those charges actually have nothing to do with the fact that Taylor died. Why is it so difficult to charge and convict police officers with misconduct?

Some sobering news from the CDC director to the Senate this morning: even after nearly 7-million Americans have been infected with the novel coronavirus, and over 200-thousand people have died..........at least 90-percent of the population is still susceptible.  Meaning any idea that we're "rounding the corner" doesn't really match with reality.

Also: we got both some promising and some troubling news on the development of new COVID vaccines........so we'll explain.

Safe to say you can find Americans on either side of the partisan divide who would agree that the federal government is broken.  We have a political environment that increasingly discourages compromise, and many of the checks and balances have stopped working.

So can we fix it? Congressman Adam Schiff introduced a new reform package today, and we'll talk to him. Plus, we have questions about the Supreme Court fight. And election interference....
