    4. What to take into 2024?

    4. What to take into 2024?

New year, same you... despite my scepticism, the turn of the new year is a lush time to set some intentions, reflect on what you've built, and set yourself up for as nice a time as we can get right now.

This episode is stuffed full of tips and reflections to take into 2024, so if you're looking for a soft reset, a source of hope, or some juicy journaling prompts, you're in the right place.

In this episode I quote Zora Neale Hurston: "There are years that ask questions, and years that answer."

Hope this is helpful, and as ever, leave me a reply on the podcast or message me on @Lesgetbetter on Instagram.

    3. Simple thoughts on Palestine

    3. Simple thoughts on Palestine

Like many people you may have been watching in horror at what is happening in Israel and Palestine. You may be painfully up to date, or have no idea what's going on.

Either way, here are some simple thoughts on what is happening, a very brief oversimplified context, and some accessible actions you can take. I really urge you to act in any small way you can, because it all adds up.

Disclaimer: the situation both now and historically is INCREDIBLY complex and so I have tried to just stick to the basics. If you want to understand more, look at Quakers in Britain's EAPPI initiative, and the Amos Trust.

Content warning: inexplicit/ top level mentions of death, invasion, murder, islamaphobia and racism. No graphic descriptions.

    2. Managing Meltdowns (big sob anyone?)

    2. Managing Meltdowns (big sob anyone?)

"You're already sad, you don't have to be mean to yourself as well." Had a big cry recently or really need one? This episode is for you.

We talk about autistic meltdowns: what they are and how to cope with them. But also what allistic (not neurodivergent) people can learn from how we manage meltdowns.

If you liked this episode and want to tell me about it find me on Instagram at @letsgetbetter. If you have requests send me a message or pop it in the Q&A!

    1 (again). Perfectionist? Try this...

I'm back, baby! In this new short voicenote-style episode, we're tackling the perfectionism which prevented me from recording any episodes for YEARS. I have some GREAT EASY TIPS and a couple of revelations for NEUROSPICY folk. If you're neurodivergent or a perfectionist who doesn't understand how everyone else can cope when you somehow can't.... this one's for you babe. I got you. Let's do this.

I love you you're glorious and I really appreciate you listening to this. If you want to tell me what you thought or ask me something I promise it won't take me 2 years this time... hit me up on Instagram at @lesgetbetter.

HUGE SHOUT OUT to @hindzsight who does little short beautiful podcast reflections every day and really inspired me both in life, but also to calm down and just put out little episodes when I can.

You're doing very well, talk to you soon! xx

"I think I'm Bisexual, now what?!": A Guide to Navigating the World as a New Bisexual

"I think I'm Bisexual, now what?!": A Guide to Navigating the World as a New Bisexual

In our first episode of this season we cover all of the basics of bisexuality. Are you a bisexual? Do you have to pay an entry fee to be part of the Queer community? How do you navigate dating apps if you're newly bisexual? Whatever your gender or your previous sexual orientation, this episode is a great catch-all exploration of what it's like to be bisexual in 2021 and how to overcome the unique hurdles that come with realising you might be Bi. 🏳️‍🌈In this episode I reference a fantastic blog by my dear friend Charli which you can read here: https://alesbianandherlaptop.com/2019/09/22/bisexuals-and-their-laptops-push-ups-and-alcohol-a-sexual-awakening/ !As I mentioned in my Caveat I want to feature a BIPOC creator or podcast host whose work I love every episode. Today it's Anshika Khullar, whose known as AORISTS (https://www.aorists.com/). They describe themselves as 'an Indian, non-binary transgender creative' and their work is immense, beautifully colourful digital paintings of powerful femmes. I've been desperate for one of their prints for ages so go check them out, drool over their work or get yourself something nice in their shop: https://www.aorists.com/shop.Thanks so much for listening! Taking Up Space: A Caveat on Allyship and Accountability

Taking Up Space: A Caveat on Allyship and Accountability

A quick explanation of why I started the podcast, and how I intend to take up the right amount of space. I cover the lack of AFAB non-binary voices in public spaces, the responsibility I have as a white person to be actively anti-racist, and a few ways I'm hoping to navigate championing and bringing awareness to important issues I don't have experience of, without speaking for people. In short, knowing when to pass the mic.
