The Dallas Stars take Game 3 in Colorado in 4-1 win and take a 2-1 series lead! Tyler Seguin and Logan Stankoven both score twice in the win. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey breaks down all the action from game three and the 3rd period specifically by the Stars. Dallas outshot Colorado 10-7 in the final 20 and played impressive defense against the best offense in the NHL. Chris Tanev and Esa Lindell had big nights against Nathan MacKinnon and company once again to close out the win. Stars may have not deserved to win, but they looked like the best road team in the NHL tonight. We then jump into a discussion of how the Stars looked a lot more like the team against Vegas than they did in games one and two of this series. Stars seemed to make an adjustment from the first two games by playing a much more structured defensive game against the Avs and force Colorado to really earn their way to the front of the net. Jake Oettinger made 28 saves and looked really good early. The penalty kill is five for their last five and Dallas got better as the game went along. We are also seeing a club that is finding ways to win games in different ways.

The Dallas Stars defeat the Colorado Avalanche in game two by a final score of 5-3. Despite having a four goal lead entering the 3rd period, the Avs closed the deficit to one, but an empty netter from Esa Lindell sealed the victory. In this game two reaction episode, Joey celebrates the Stars offense we have been hoping to see. Specifically, from Roope Hintz who had four points in the game. Miro Heiskanen added two power play goals and Tyler Seguin picked up a short handed goal. Joey also provides his thought's on Jamie Benn's hit on Devon Towes. We also discuss the 3rd period and how Colorado continues to find ways back into hockey games against the Stars. What does Dallas have to do better to keep Colorado from gaining momentum late? To wrap up the episode we look ahead to the weekend and the Stars playing in Denver for game three. Joey raises concerns about game three and wonders how the Stars will respond when they trail at some point in the series.

On today's episode of Locked On Stars, we take a look at the lack of offensive production from players like Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Tyler Seguin and Matt Duchene. After game one, Pete DeBoer mentioned they are waiting for some of their scorers to find the scoresheet for over a series now. DeBoer has changed up the lines a few times throughout the postseason to spark things, but the remaining constant has been Wyatt Johnston. The Dallas Stars drop game one to the Colorado Avalanche by a final score of 4-3 in overtime. On today's episode of Locked On Stars, Joey reacts to the Stars blowing a three goal lead to the Avalanche and a Miles Wood game winning goal in OT. Joey gives his thoughts and reactions to game one which include the Stars incredible first period to build the lead, the best players for Colorado were better than the Stars best players and more. Jamie Benn had a goal and assist in the game and Wyatt Johnston added his 5th goal of the postseason as well. In the following segment, Joey brings up the concerns of playing five defensemen and how that will affect players like Miro Heiskanen, Thomas Harley and others. How sustainable will that be for Pete DeBoer moving forward in the series with the amount of puck possession Colorado had. To wrap up the episode, Joey goes through what we know about both teams after game one. No lead is safe against the Avalanche, Stars need more out of their core players such as Joe Pavelski, Roope Hintz, Tyler Seguin and Matt Duchene, plus Dallas can play a lot better than they did.

The Dallas Stars defeat the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 7 by a final score of 2-1 to move on in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Joey reacts to the game and series clinching victory by the Stars and breaks down the coaching performance from Pete DeBoer. For the first time this season, he put Logan Stankoven on the top line and put Pavelski with Wyatt Johnston and Jamie Benn which really paid off. It was another close game that Stars closed out defensively with fantastic games from Miro Heiskanen and Thomas Harley. The entire defense deserves credit along with Radek Faksa who scored the game winning goal. In the second segment, we hand out our series MVP award which has to go to Johnston who led the team with four goals and seven points in the series. When Dallas needed a hero, he stepped up. Joey also raves about the Stars defensively and how important Chris Tanev has been to the Stars. To finish the episode, we take a sneak preview of the Colorado Avalanche, the second round opponent for the Stars. The series begins on Tuesday night in Dallas, Nathan Mackinnon and Cale Makar are the players Dallas must stop.
