MVP100: The Future of the Self Protection Industry

MVP100: The Future of the Self Protection Industry

I am using this milestone episode of the Managing Violence Podcast to plant a flag.

It is time we tear down this makeshift industry we have continued to patch, fix and repair over the past 70 or so years. Like a loved family home that has been renovated and added to in ad hoc fashion as it has been outgrown, sometimes the best option is to take the lessons and rebuild for the future. It's time for us to create something that is truly fit for purpose.

In this podcast I talk about what I think is the future of our industry. A move towards violence prevention and management, the incorporation of best-practice risk management principles and formalising professional education for instructors.

Callum MacPherson ,

The Best Podcast On Violence

As someone who’s just getting into Krav Maga and boxing and who’s eager to gain an understanding of the world of violence, this podcast is an outstanding resource.

Joe is a great host and the range of guests he has on the show is incredible, the stories they tell are deeply engaging and varied.

If you’re looking for a great insight into the fighters mindset and the reality of real violent situations this is where you’ll find it!

KravKell ,

Consistently excellent

For anyone interested in self defence, the nature of violence, and the many related tangents, there’s a wealth of knowledge in every episode. Highly recommended.

Mercenary151 ,

What you need to know from someone who knows.

If you are looking for five finger exploding heart technique, or pressure point strikes, move on.

If you want to know how to keep yourself and your family safe, than start with this podcast. Managing violence is more than committing it, but avoiding it and ultimately surviving it.

Most people either avoid thinking that violence can happen to them, or have grown overconfident by taking martial arts classes.

Well spoken host with heaps of experience that regular people can benefit from.
