One of the key findings from the recently released NSW Birth Trauma report was that there needs to be greater emphasis put on educating prospective parents about all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth. With a lack of clear communication, understanding and recognition of trauma informed care contributing to higher rates of birth trauma and subsequent symptoms of postnatal anxiety and depression.
