Becoming African Australia - Insight and experiences of a former refugee.
Following on from the last episode. I had a conversation with Murray, a young man who before coming to Australia experienced trauma of civil war and living in a refugee camp. I really wanted to understand how that experience shapes someone identity and view of their cultural background. I definitely got more than I bargained for, Murray had so much insight to share, not just on his experience but also how as Africans in the diaspora we ought to love and be proud of our culture as well as pass it onto the younger generation. More than anything I loved more than anything how intentional he has been on knowing the true history of Africa.
