MESS Recovery Residencies Liquid Architecture

Over 2021 and 2022, 20 sound artists were were given the time and space to produce a new electronic track at Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio. These two-week Recovery Residencies were developed to assist artists in getting back into their creative practice after the impacts of 2020.

Emily Bennett, Lu Lin, Patrick Hartono, Mel Deerson, Bonnie Cummings, and Isla Scott reflect on the instruments they explored, the processes they took to produce their tracks, and the community atmosphere at MESS.

The MESS Recovery Residencies program is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria.
