96: Halloween Episode with Terence Hannum (Locrian)

96: Halloween Episode with Terence Hannum (Locrian)

Like many of you, Halloween is my favorite time of the year. To celebrate the spookiest time of the year, I've invited Terence Hannum of Locrian to run us through some of his favorite horror movie films scores. For anyone who is familiar with Locrian's cinematic approach to extreme music, they won't be surprised to learn that he is a bit an aficionado when it comes to movie scores and soundtracks. We had a blast talking about horror movies, their scores and why we dig them.
    Intro:"Eternal Return" - Locrian

Halloween is around the corner so these next few episodes are going to lean heavily into the season. With that said, London May (Samhain, Misfits, Star of Brutal Realty) joins us to update us on some killer news regarding Brutal Realty, a horror-comedy film that he stars in about a black metal drummer in league with Satan, that is trying his hand at realty. Good stuff!

93: Deep Cuts with Ralph Schmidt of Ultha

93: Deep Cuts with Ralph Schmidt of Ultha

I've always relied on old friend Ralph to turn me on to the best music, regardless of genre, so it made sense to invite him on for once of these. Though it seems like yesterday, Ralph and I met nearly two decades ago when I was on tour in Europe. We sent hours, listening to music and talking about horror movies. Not only do I value his diverse musical expertise, Ralph is in my inner circle of friends. Enjoy the episode!

92: Barney Greenway of Napalm Death

92: Barney Greenway of Napalm Death

Napalm Death was the first extreme metal band that I ever got into. Sure, I was into Slayer and Metallica and thrash but Napalm Death were among the first crop of bands that I heard that really pushed the genre into a new dimension. It’s an honor Barney Greenway on the show this week to talk about “Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism” and the general stat of this crazy moment in time we’re living in.
Intro:                   “The Curse of Being in Thrall”
Outro:                 “Joie De Ne Pas Vivre”
