E92. Getting Your Crying Baby To Sleep
Crying and Baby Sleep
With Calm and Bright Sleep Support- Eve and Gem
If you are anything like me then hearing your baby cry is like someone pulling your heart from inside your body. Your gut instinct is likely to instantly pick them up, cuddle comfort, feed or rock. There are two notions that seem to exist- one in that this is the right thing to do to respond to your baby and develop deep and secure attachments and then there is the idea that perhaps we shouldn’t rush in, maybe we should even let them cry?
On this weeks episode I am joined by two women who in the eyes of many parents, mine included, are sleep angels. Eve and Gem, founders of Calm and Bright Sleep Support @calmandbrightsleepsupport, sisters and mothers to 8 children between them. Eve and Gem believe in empowering parents with solid sleep and believe it is achievable for all, but they also have a very unique take on age-appropriate responsive crying that you may not have heard of before. www.calmandbright.co.uk

E88. Improving our children’s health through our gut health With Lucy Upton
The power of our gut health on our own wellbeing is incredible but then when we uncover the power that it has on our children it is nothing short of mind blowing. Such simple changes that can literally have life changing consequences all because of the amazing microbes in our gut.
This week I am really excited to be joined by Lucy Upton, a highly specialist Paediatric Dietitian and Feeding Therapist with over 12 years of experience @childrensdietician
I hope you are enjoying and learning as much as I am on this chat about the power of gut health, it really is fascinating and more powerful than we have realised for many generations. Gut health is one incredible way to support your baby’s immune system which is developing in the early days, weeks and months of life and is essential for them being well, thriving, and healthy children. But there are other things we can do to support a strong immune system too, head over to www.aptaclub.co.uk/midwifepip to find out more.
