We’re talking beats this week, and we travel with John and his grandfathers Dobro guitar to Kolkata, India, to sit for many days on the roof of one of the worlds greatest slide guitar player's. We also bomb a hill in rural Victoria on a skateboard, get the blessing of the Allman Brothers and learn why this is one of John's favourite songs on the record.

What is it exactly that John is running away from? This week John talks about the deep work he did to uncover some gremlins from the past and bring them into the light of a new day. John, The Jedi, also reveals one of his secret weapons in his pedal board and where the came to learn of it's origins from an old friend and brilliant guitarist Jeff Lang.

This week we learn that sometimes a song needs a champion. Close friend, and long time tour manager Kester Sapho kept on about a demo, ultimately encouraging John through all his hesitation. A song that nearly didn't make it and a rare musical moment for John, stepping away from guitar.

This week we get a little more philosophical and look into what it means to come of age as a man. Johns opens up about challenging the traditions of masculinity and femininity in our culture . Are you or do you know a boy walking around in a mans body? And where does a good man sit in a world where the Patriarchy is being challenged in new ways by a new generation.
