No. 238: The Brolgas - Aussie Womens Basketball Masters with Rachel Millard

It's a European Summer to remember with the Brolgas representing Australian Masters Basketball at the inaugural FIBA Masters Open Basketball tournament in Corinth, Greece.

This is the first time FIBA have organised a Masters tournament, attracting strong competition from around the globe!

Rachel Millard joins the podcast to talk to us about the Masters Basketball movement, with a contingent of five women’s teams taking part with the aim to fulfil the hopes and dreams of many Aussie female players to remain active in the game they love.

Poignantly for many, the Brolgas are about rediscovering in later stages of life, the love of the game, friendships and vitality, as we were told ‘… Brolgas represent loyalty, love and partnership.’

The FIBA Masters Open declares ‘the love for basketball transcends age, nationality, and background’.
