All about "The Union" via a weekly podcast. Sometimes right, sometimes wrong, always certain!
Episode 16 - Paul Hoffman
From "Woodchopper" to "The Pro Who Knows!" Hoffy comes clean on how it nearly didn't happen at Uddingston. A great story behind one of the legends on The Union
Episode 17 - Bruce Russell
The "Laddy Russell" did not disappoint. Regaling us with tales of feathering Ricky Elcock, walking out to bat in Tiger Feet, proing at "The Dale" and of course the infamous Aberdeen road trips, it's a great episode
Episode 15 - Andy Tennant (Prestwick C.C.)
It took a while to get this one done. Worth the wait though as Tenners takes us through who would bat for his life, bowling to Sajid Ali and that last ball debacle in the Scottish Cup.
Episode 14 - Jon Taylor (Stirling)
Winning the Counties Championship back in 1985 was a highlight for Jon Taylor. We relive those days and talk about that man Appleby from Ayrshire again, David Haggo, Neil Burnett, Bruce Patterson, Stanners, Andy Andrew Tennant, Gordon Webster, Bruce Russell, George McGuire, Peter Rhind all get a namecheck. It's a who's who of Scottish Cricket. And apparently, we were all Freddie Mercury in those days!
Episode 13 - Johnny Williams (West)
We've scraped the bottom of the barrel and you'll have to put up with some witterings of our co-host as he regales us all with winning the league, leaving West and returning and then leaving West and coming back again, 12 years away and of course, Chris asks the $64,000 question - Was it better in his day?
SEASON 2 - Episode 12 - Billy McPate - Drumpelier
Played with Billy back in the day. What I didn't know was that he made his Scotland debut at the grand old age of 32. We covered alot here - even the Mankads but forgot to ask him about the iconic 1979 photo of the Scottish Cup which hangs in the clubhouse. Grab a coffee and sit in for 45 mins of great chat.
