The AFLW finals series is offering up some sweet treats. Emma, Rana and Lucy shared their highlights, and discussed their reaction to extra rounds in the AFLM, the ongoing floating fixture for AFLW, and a new betting scandal.
We mentioned a few articles on gambling:
This article calling for more to be done to protect young Australians from sports betting
A survey of club leaders found that almost three quarters think the amount of gambling advertising in footy is excessive
Voters want gambling banned from sports sponsorship

This week Tess, Lucy and Nic discuss the increasing number of athletes finding their political voices, and the role of sponsorship in sport. We review - in true Sanctum style - the AFLW teams whose seasons have ended, and turn to Siren co-founder and commentator extraordinaire, Gemma Bastiani, for her tips for the first week of the finals.
    We mentioned:
This article about Roxy Roux and her mum Gail Kinsell - watch the video!
Vince Rugari spoke to Jackson Irvine about the Socceroos' remarkable statement ahead of the World Cup

Co authorship

The interview with Rana and Shane the affect of culture and preparing for the long term instead of putting out spot fires. Let’s hope that the lessons from First Nations we can all learn is about future and care for each other, respect for the land that we walk on.

Footy done well.

Have been following since the beginning of AFLW and eagerly await each episode. Love listening to the different voices and perspectives. Nothing mainstream about this podcast. Thanks for terrific nuanced response to past players and redemption. Go Footy.

Intelligent, witty, informative.

Such an enriching podcast! Love the thoughtful analysis of footy on and off the field, whilst also having many laughs along the way.
