Expectations - Christmas 2023
Anthony brings us the first of our Christmas series messages, on "We're having a baby!" from Luke 1:26-38.
Anthony says: "We all have expectations about Christmas - expectations around decorations and what kind of Christmas lights we will set up or what kind of gifts we will buy or receive. We have expectations around family gatherings, hoping everyone will get along and the food we will cook and eat. Expectations about Peace, Hope, Love and Joy, that is, until you head to the local shopping mall. Christmas is full of expectations !!! That very first Christmas, there were also lots of expectations. Joseph, Mary, King Herod, and the Shepherds all had expectations. What if all we were expecting for Christmas this year was God? How would that change our Christmas? Would it change our Christmas?" -
Romans 12:16 - Humility - Romans 12:9-16
This Sunday Jason Brooks will be bringing us the final message in our Romans 12 series.
Jason says: "Humility is a foundational virtue for those who follow Jesus. What comes to mind when you think about humility? Yourself! Someone you know? Is humility something that can be defined with words? Or is it better to look at the embodiment of humility, Jesus Christ. Come along Sunday as we work through our final instalment of Romans Chapter 12." -
Romans 12:15 - Romans 12:9-16
This Sunday we have a guest speaker, Pastor Mike Bullard.
Mike says: "Ever been to a sporting match and been offended by "that feral supporter" - usually of the other team. Our team's supporters are always much more reasonable....or so it seems. What's happening in that feral supporter? They've seen something, interpreted it through the lens of their team's success, and let fly if anything has challenged that. They're not really concerned for the ref, or the other team, or other fans. It's all about them and their right to protest injustice against their sacred team. I wonder if we might often be like that supporter. Maybe we're not as feral, but we all tend to look at life through the lens of what works for me. What might it mean to get a new set of lenses? What might life look like through the lens of the thoughts or feelings of another? Are we developing that new set of lenses? Are we overdue for a visit to the optometrist?" -
Romans 12:12 - Romans 12:9-16
Anthony brings us us the latest message in our Romans sermon series.
He says: "This Sunday, we are instructed to be Joyful, Patient, and Faithful. Sounds achievable. But wait one minute, what are we meant to be Joyful about? And when are we meant to be Patient? And what are we meant to be Faithful in? We will drill into these things and see that inside of the human experience of pain and suffering, on the surface, the instruction to be Joyful, Patient, and Faithful can seem, at best, unachievable and, at worst, insensitive. Romans 12:12 get around it!." -

Be devoted to one another - Romans 12:9-16
This Sunday Anthony Palmieri brings us the latest message in our Romans sermon series.
Anthony says: "Back to Romans this Sunday, and Paul continues to instruct us on what it means to Love that is sincere. We will see that we are called to be like a family. Now, we know that not all families are perfect or healthy. However, despite its weakness, there is something deeper and different about the family unit that Paul wants the church to imitate."
