With over 35 years of experience in the health industry, Mary Martin’s career began in the early '70s as a nurse at the Mater Hospital. Over the years she has served on multiple boards and committees and was instrumental in the establishment of the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council, where she still works today.


Mary Martin was recently awarded a Member of the Order of Australian (AM) in recognition of her dedication and significant contribution to improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
