    Independents Day

    Independents Day

With the news of Lion's takeover of Stone and Wood still reverberating around the craft beer world Russell and Kris take a stand for the little guys still doing the hard yards.

So today we support those who still are fighting, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. They're fighting for their right to live, to exist and to brew brilliant beers.

These brewers will not go quietly into the night! They will not vanish without a fight! They will brew on, they will survive. Today we celebrate, Independents Day!

Hazies are Overrated, Prove Me Wrong.

Hazies are Overrated, Prove Me Wrong.

Hazy Beers have taken over the Craft Beer world in recent times to the extent that every brewery worth their salt usually has at least two in their core range alone. Throw in countless variations of limited editions and collaborations the options are endless.

But we ask the question, do they deserve their place as the Golden Child of modern day beer styles or have they over stayed their welcome? Or just maybe we are just a bunch of cranky old men resistant to change.

We also have a heated discussion of overrated movies which my prompt some backlash. Be sure to send your hate mail to @Pouring_Old_Men on Instagram...

Trilogy of Fear from Brick Lane Brewing

Trilogy of Fear from Brick Lane Brewing

It's the biggest line up of beer we've ever had on the show!
Six beers up for a solid tasting.
With a massive thanks to Josh from Brick Lane Brewing, the Pouring Old Men get to run the gauntlet of the Trilogy of Fear. Three big, beautiful stouts, presented in three very different ways.
    Baba Yaga: Russian Imperial Stout
The Leviathan: Cacao Vanilla Imperial Stout
    The Abyss: Amburana Imperial.

Plus we get bitten by the Sidewinder Ultra Low Alcohol beer, get stuck into an Avalanche or two and then fall in One Love.

Six Beers, Lots of Standard Drinks and Four blokes around a Microphone...what's the worst that could happen?

    Straight Outta Lockdown

    Straight Outta Lockdown

At the end of the recent week long Brisbane lockdown, the Pouring Old Men asked the question; What beer were you in need of following our week at home?
The answers are as diverse as the stories behind them.
And Speaking of stories, Kris delves into the age old question..."What was your first pub experience?"

This week we feature beers from the good folk at Happy Valley Brewing, Ballistic Brewing and Hope Estate and Inglourious Beer Snacks returns with some Aussie classics.

Good job lads 🍺

Mr. Rulu ,

Easy Listening Craft Beer show.

A fun, friendly and informative podcast about aussie craft beer, but without the usual drunken yobs with filthy language. It’s a fresh approach to craft beer podcasts, it’s fun and informative but I’m not embarrassed to listen to it around my family. Great work guys!
