E37: Cutting through in a sea of green. Feat. Nick Hunter of Paper Moose

Today on Producing with Purpose, we have the first guest episode of the year: I’ll be chatting with Nick Hunter, CEO and co-founder of the creative agency Paper Moose!. Paper Moose is an extremely purposeful company that puts a lot of parameters and thought into who they work with and what kind of work they do, so it was fantastic to talk to Nick and get some of his valuable insights when it comes to brand messaging and how to cut through as more and more companies use their sustainability as a selling point.

The importance of narrative. Feat. Andy Fallshaw - Bellroy

The importance of narrative. Feat. Andy Fallshaw - Bellroy

On this episode of Producing with Purpose, I speak with Andy Fallshaw, co-founder of the Australian carry brand, Bellroy.

Andy is a dad, a designer, an engineer, an entrepreneur, a surfer and just a great person to have a conversation with about founding and running a business with purpose.

Andy gives some fantastic insight into the importance of having a strong narrative, not just around your company and values, but around the product itself, which has been reinforced from the start with Andy taking a role in founding the Carryology blog. This has served as a core part of the 'carry community' and demonstrates the importance of being an authority in your field.

Micro Episode 10: The true value of authenticity

Micro Episode 10: The true value of authenticity

As online trends progress, we hear the term 'authenticity' mentioned more than ever. But what does it mean to be truly authentic?

Sometimes, we can get caught up in trying to make things look so professional, so well executed, that they can seem insincere. And even worse, if we try to make the artificial look authentic, it can very quickly damage a reputation.

So whilst this subject was fresh in my mind, and I had the pleasure of sharing an 'authentic' moment recording this podcast from London in my Mum's dining room, I felt it was a great opportunity to talk about an element of personal brand which, if done right, can be the difference between cutting through the noise, or being left behind.

What an exciting journey to be led on via podcast! Personally I have a keen interest in the politics of fashion and social enterprise, so it’s a match made in heaven to hear from Tony how he’s doing both in the one business. There’s a lot to reflect on in this episode about sustainable consumption, and how to create a viable business model when the vision is to slow down rather than encourage consumers to stay in habits of fast fashion. I will definitely be listening to this show from start to finish as I can’t wait to hear from other local social enterprise practitioners and the pathways they’ve taken to getting to where they are.
