Connecting with “Big Kids”: How to Build & Sustain Healthy Relationships with Older Kids, Tweens & Teens Raised Resilient: Help Your Highly Sensitive Child

    • Parenting

We talk a lot about connecting with our little kids – our babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and young kids. But as our kids grow, changing developmental needs & behaviors can sometimes make it feel more challenging to connect with them.

In this week’s episode, I dive into how your relationship with your child changes (and how it stays the same!) as your child grows. I share tips for connecting with your older kid, preteen, or teenager and help you shift your mindset so that you can show up for your “bid kid” in a way that feels good for both of you.

Here’s the thing: As our kids grow, it can seem like they don’t need us as much – and that perception can create unnecessary distance in the parent-child relationship. But actually, our older kids, tweens, and teens need us just as much (and maybe even more!) … just in different ways. And once you understand what your child really needs from you, you’ll be that much more able to meet those needs.
