RC 0011: How To Bring Remote Teams Together

RC 0011: How To Bring Remote Teams Together

The adrenaline that fuelled your team to shift to virtual working is starting to run low. So how do you bring them together?

Today's tip has two parts. First, continuously express clear mission intent (like a broken record) and then over-communicate to help your team remember why they joined your team in the first place!

We know this is a tricky area so how are you managing this change in momentum?

RC 0009: Celebrating Virtual Successes and Small Wins

RC 0009: Celebrating Virtual Successes and Small Wins

This is one of those tips that is important no matter what environment you're in, but also one that often gets forgotten in the virtual world - recognising and celebrating the team's success.

    • Religiously celebrate successes each week (a weekly email sent at the same time and a conversation over weekly virtual drinks is a great way to do this)
    • Welcome every team member to talk about their small wins for the week
    • Don't limit the successes to milestones and productivity, have some fun with it! Did you get laundry done? Did you survive home schooling? Did you hit that at home exercise target?

RC 0006: Find A Brain Buddy!

RC 0006: Find A Brain Buddy!

    Don't go it alone!

That's the punchline for today's episode.

    Key thoughts:

    • Establish a small group of people to help you crack problems
    • Find ways to make it worth their while by offering to return the favour
    • Respect their time by batching together questions and share with them what you already know about the problem or issue based on the conversations you've already had (in other words, pay the knowledge forward!)

    So how are we doing?

Perfect bite sized tips - less than 5 mins daily

Great podcast for these strange times we are in now. I’m a seasoned WFHer and I’m picking up great tips and ideas. Episodes are less than 5 mins long and a great way to start the day. I listen to them on my morning walk. Really relatable and actually practical to implement. This is real stuff we are all facing into right now. (And they have calming voices!).
