1994 World Cup Special: 30 years on

On the 30th anniversary of England's victory in the 1994 World Cup final, Sara sits down with Giselle Mather and Gill Burns to relive that historic day in English women's rugby. It was the tournament that almost never happened, but Scotland stepped in to host at the last minute and the rest as they say is history. Gill and Giselle take us back to the struggles being a rugby player in the early 90s juggling work and even sharing beds with players while on tour. They also delve into the final itself and explain how they toppled the defending champions USA in front of packed stadium in Edinburgh.

We get Danny to run the rule over England's plethora of in-form nines now that he has called time on his international career. I listen to the pod every week and really enjoy it. Love how the “Badger” maintains the line and constantly impressed by his rugby knowledge. Can’t believe how infectious Ugo’s laughter is and did you know he also commentates on ….. 😀 (stay on his case Chris !) Very impressed by Ashy’s efforts to join the world of punditry, enjoy his insights and his sense of humour. Also a big fan of Danny’s both on and off the pitch, partly because our boy Ryan (who was the last professional captain at London Welsh when they won the B & I Cup) played one game for Harlequins at Sandy Gate. Keep it up boys !

Chris Jones Fan

As an Ulster and Irish rugby fan I tune into this regularly for the spot on punditry and insight of the very knowledgeable Chris Jones. Star of the show.

Depends on the hosts

Love the pod but more forward analysis would make it even better, maybe add an ex forward into the panel as is very backs heavy!! Two wingers and scrum half!
