Becoming a single mum is one of the most daunting and overwhelming life changes someone will ever go through. Whether you are pregnant or have teenagers, you will most likely be confused and struggling with what to do next. I became a single mum in 2013 when my daughter was just a few months old, and it has been a challenging but rewarding journey ever since. This Podcast (and the website www.singlemothersurvivalguide) was created to assist newly single mothers in all things they may need to know about.

SO WHAT IS THE SINGLE MOTHER SURVIVAL GUIDE PODCAST ABOUT?

A Podcast for single mums, made by a single mum… The Single Mother Survival Guide Podcast includes a mixture of me babbling about single mums business and interviews and discussions with different people and experts about different topics.

First off the ranks this includes an interview with a Wills and Estate lawyer which contains everything YOU need to know about getting a Will done, an interview with a financial adviser on everyday money management, savings, spending and so forth, an interview with an online security expert so that YOU know how to keep yourself secure online, an open interview with a domestic violence survivor and advocate, and another interview with a financial adviser on everything to do with insurance, and what you should think about getting insured to ensure the financial safety for you and your kids. Coming up after that I have chats with people including parenting experts, family lawyers, and a life coach.

I also chat about the social stigma of being a single mum, single parent travel, everyday tips to make YOUR life easier, dating, personal budgeting, resources out there to help YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN, child support, domestic violence, successful co-parenting, advantages to being a single mum, and the list goes on…

Thank God I found you and thank you! You just just tick so many boxes. To wake up one day and realise everything is up to you is the most overwhelming feeling. And to navigate this world as a single mum is daunting. What a great support this is!

Best uplifting podcast for single mums

Whenever I am struggling (can be often!) I always feel better once I’ve listened to an episode or two. Listening to other mums share their stories helps so much. Sometimes it reminds me that it could be so much worse and if mums can get through what they’ve been through then I can certainly keep standing back up when times are tough. The other side is it just reminds me that there are so many of us on this path continually striving to do better in life and thrive as a single mum. With 99% of my friends being married, having this connection (albeit 1 dimensional) with other single mums is an absolute GodSend.
Thankyou Julia for all that you do and for continuing to bring other amazing mums on to share their story. Keen them coming!! 🙏🙌❤️

Life and game changer!

Thank you Julia - at a time when it feels like I'm the only single Mum out there (in my world anyway!) it's so reassuring to know that I'm not alone, and not only that, there are SOOO many other women (especially you for some reason!) that I can relate to. I find myself listening to your podcast every spare moment I get over TV and music, cannot get enough! Thank you so much for being bold and honest, but mostly for bringing awareness to the subjects that us single Mummas face, and helping us feel empowered again! You're just awesome! X
