The Best Podcast for Aspiring Authors & Writers

I searched high and low for a decent podcast to listen to, only to find many monotone podcasts where I had trouble absorbing the information. The playful banter between Val and Al makes this podcast much more engaging and it feels natural for the listener. I've learned so much and managed to meet Allison at two festivals and Val when she generously opened up some mentoring time to listeners of the podcast. For these two, writing isn't just something they do, it's something they love to share and their generosity extends beyond the podcast as they constantly boost those around them to greater heights. Thanks for everything ladies, you're both legends!

Sledgehammers at the Towering Walls of 'I Can't'

I love this podcast. It's like having an honest best-friend (well two of them) who tell you harsh truths with a hug, look you in the eye and say, 'keep writing, keep learning, and be patient. Don't give up on yourself.'
Usually I skip over banter in podcasts, but I find Val and Al, and their friendship to be genuinely authentic, warm and engaging. Their knowledge within the writing industry is vast and I'm hugely grateful to them for bringing the 'untouchable' literary world to people like me who need to know how to leap within it's walls and be a part of it, rather than just staring through the glass walls wishing there was a way in. So, 'THANKS!'
Btw, I've completed a course at the AWC, finished writing the first novel in a trilogy, survived structural edits, and I'm almost ready to get my author website online.
Tenacity comes naturally to me, patience does not. I hate this fact... but I have learned that the process of being creative, means so much more than the 'end' result. It's about loving writing, reading and learning, and celebrating all the little wins along the way.
