Welcome to the Laurie Lawrence podcast, Stuff the Silver, we are Going for Gold. Laurie Lawrence, a top athlete in his own right, is a former Australian Rugby Union Representative and Olympic and World Champion Swim coach.

This podcast will start with a collection of stories from his two books, Lawrence of Australia and Five Ring Fever. These stories document Laurie's 50-year international coaching career, his triumphs and the people he met along the way including some of Australia's swimming greats - Duncan Armstrong, Dawn Fraser, Tracey Wickham and Lisa Curry-Kenny, to name a few.

Laurie will also interview some of the remarkable sportsmen and sportswomen that he's encountered throughout his career, in a way that only Laurie Lawrence can - direct, sincere and honest.

The podcast is not meant to be a quick fix to get you achieving. It's simply meant to be a help, a guide, a companion in the tough times. Laurie wants to show that dreams are important and we must hold onto those dreams. However, without hard work, those dreams are only fantasies. The perfect result is when we dream and then make those dreams come true.

Great story teller

I wish these stories were weekly. Just love the way Laurie tells the story. I would much rather listen than read the books

Great reminder of old school coaching

Could listen to his interesting and inspiring stories all day. Bring back the days when encouraging/enforcing mental toughness was acceptable, before the age of entitlement!!!
