Disruption Episode 13 - Bernie Brooks - Inspiration of a Master

It seems unfair that finding fulfilment at work is like winning Powerball; that only a few lucky ones get to feel valued by their organisations, to feel like they belong. Imagine a world where almost everyone wakes up inspired to go to work, feels trusted and valued during the day, then returns home feeling fulfilled. Bernie Brookes is someone who has; but more importantly has been a leader who has ignited such fulfilment. A leader who will ‘eat last’. When it matters most, leaders who are willing to eat last are rewarded with deeply loyal colleagues who will stop at nothing to advance their leader’s vision and their organisations interests. It has been the hallmark of Bernie’s career that he has always been able to garner this passion.

Disruption Episode 12 - Rhonda McAllister - Call to Courage

In the words of Joseph Campbell “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.” And so is a career that lies at 3M, a storied innovation powerhouse. The major lesson is that when you find the courage to enter that cave, you’re never going in to secure your own treasure or your own wealth; you face your fears to find the power and wisdom to serve others. Rhonda McAllister has spent her career at 3M and is the rare leader who continually seeks wisdom from the one company. From the podcast we learnt that if you get the privilege to work at a company like 3M why would you leave?

Disruption Episode 11 - Peter Scott - Authentic Leadership

Purpose defines the unique gifts people bring to leadership challenges, through which they can align others with their purposes in order to create positive impact. This is far more important than focusing entirely on achieving success in metrics like money, fame and power, yet ultimately produces sustained success in those metrics as well. Authenticity is what defines Peter Scott and is why he is always in demand in leading many of the best companies in Australia. Most people define authentic leadership from the outside in, but Peter has lived it from the inside. Here is a bit of his journey in his own words.

Disruption Episode 9 - Esme Borgelt - Dare To Lead

Disruption Episode 8 - Drew Bilbe - Taking The Right Risks

BusyAngie2 ,

Too chatty.

When I read about this podcast in a local publication, I was actually excited to check it out. I listen to a few business/industry orientated podcasts and was looking forward to hearing about Australian retail/FMCG developments and localised schools of thought. After listening to a couple of episodes I am sorry to say that I lost interest. While it’s good to talk about each other’s background, work history and who knows who, I think you spend too much time talking about it. I would suggest keeping the chitchat to a minimum and go straight to the topic at hand. Also, it would be good to end each episode with key learnings that your listeners can take away and apply in practice. I could just stop listening but I want your podcast to get better so I thought of providing your with constructive feedback.
