Talkville Review - Season 1-3
Overall this podcast is a great and entertaining show which follows the hosts Michael, Tom and Ryan travelling back in time discussing the episodes of Smallville. If you love some insightful discussions and some fun banter between hosts, you'll love this first season of the podcast.
As the series they watch progresses, so does the episodes of this podcast. From the first episode to the last episode of season 1, they figure out the technical difficuties of recording their episodes remotely with Tom however this does not deter from the quality of the content within the earlier episodes.
I love the dynamics between each host and as an extension to that, seeing Tom warm up to and begin to banter with Ryan more as the show progresses.
I love the bits that they established during season 1 that they continued with in their other seasons, such as "Ryan's favourite Scene" and the Rose n' Bomb rating system which creates a fresh feel to rating the quality of episodes.
Season 2 & 3:
They figured their formular out, all the creases have been ironed out in their production of Talkville. I love the references they carried over from season 1 and expanded upon in season 2 & 3. With the most honourable mention being "Damn... who's that" (if you know you know). I could go on about all the fun and great things I love about this podcast but I would be here all day. Great segments with their Patrons and callers, editors and producers (Bryce and Jason) keep me entertained throughout the podcast, keeping it fun and fresh.
Overall, I love the podcast and the insights with Michael and Tom's experiences on set alongside their guests' experiences.
Keep it up guys, love the podcast!

Loved this show when I was in high school. I’ve only just found the pod in 2024.
You guys are doing a great job. Loving it.
Talk Ville
I don’t want to go full ‘Rosenbaum’ but the team really needs to read online comments to understand why fans have quit the podcast in droves.
Most discussions are on the Smallville subreddit, Talk Ville subreddit (which barely has a pulse), YouTube comments, and negative podcast reviews. There is little to no interest within the rest of Smallville’s online fandom. One comment I read said “If you love Smallville don’t watch Talk Ville”.
I won’t list the issues here, but it’s always the same complaints. Talk Ville has even caused heated arguments between those that like the podcast and those that don’t, as well as tension between Tom’s and Michael’s fans.
It may sound all doom and gloom, but fans would return in a heartbeat if the issues were resolved.
