The Blithedale Romance (1852) is the third of the major novels of American author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Much of the action of the novel is set at Blithedale, a utopian socialist community that is founded upon anti-capitalist ideals, yet is destroyed by the self-interested behavior of its members.


This work is a part of the Lit2Go collection, a collaboration between the Florida Department of Education and the University of South Florida College of Education.
