Up the Boro
Listen to every pod from Brisbane Australia , love the craic. I’m also a big curry and chips fan from Nunthorpe.
Joe Lumley’s brother is here as a goalkeeper coach - PROPLAYER for a local team (Port of Brisbane ) and I spoke with him yesterday re why Joe is nearly getting caught short on the ball playing out from the back, what seems like a lot.
I said “surly he’s been told to do that, as a pro keeper he’s not making the same mistake every game”.
His brother said “ Yes, He’s been told to do that , to invite the 3 forwards up the pitch to the keeper then play out from the back taking 3 of there team out of the game straight away, it is risky business but when it works it’s great strategy”
“We only notice out the 10 times Joe does it, the 3 he nearly gets caught short and the 1 when something catastrophic happens, 🤦🏼♂️. But the other 7 times when we nearly or do score a goal go un-noticed”
