Join us each week as our Creative Director, Jen Siomacco, sits downs with special guests from the Catalyst Community and beyond to talk about their favorite (or least favorite) movies or tv shows that include weddings. Together, we'll PICK THEM APART. We'll talk about our favorite moments, the most unrealistic parts of the wedding, why there are is unbalanced representation of people of different races, cultures, sexualities, and gender identities, and why oh why do they need to blow up so many balloons in My Best Friend's Wedding (there aren't even any balloons at the wedding or reception?! What a waste of balloons and helium!) We'll discuss it all.

Ep 8 - Friends "The One With Ross's Wedding" w/ Lucy Baber

In this episode, Jen sits down with family photographer Lucy Baber to discuss the ill-fated wedding of Ross and Emily on Friends. If there is one thing to remember, friends, it's that you should NEVER feel pressured to go through with a wedding if your spouse-to-be says someone else's name at the altar. Like, seriously, feel free to just WALK AWAY.

Lucy Baber is a Philadelphia-based family photographer best known for her 100 Black Dads project which works to change mass media's depictions of black fatherhood. // www.lucybaberphotography.com

Ep 7 - Rachel Getting Married w/ Diana Ascarrunz

This week, Jen is joined by Austin, Texas, photographer Diana Ascarrunz to review the 2008 film, Rachel Getting Married. This movie proves that even joyous occasions like weddings aren't without emotional baggage and family drama, but in fact can sometimes amplify those emotions and make for a more stressful situation for everyone, especially if the wedding is also the first time you are reuniting with your family after a period in rehab. This film showcases a gorgeous, diverse, and musical backyard wedding, but it's not without bumps along the way.
