One word

I was lucky enough to be on the room at CIC . I left with an amazing sense of curiosity. My one word was eluding me. I have since listened with intent to the podcast and have unpacked a lot of my barriers to be knowing my word. Thank you for your “refreshing” (sounds cliche I know) approach to motivation and leadership , because unfortunately I was stuck on smart goals and wishlists for way to long . Much respect Dr. Jason ✌️

Events are more than whisky tastings

Complex, lots of detailed work and highly stressful. And I love it! Because it’s the look on people’s faces, the light bulb moment or just joy people experience that makes the work worthwhile. Sometimes there are unintended consequences...those tradies joining in the whisky tasting... but they are stakeholders, intended or not. It’s cutting through the noise and having the agency to be creative, bright enough to understand your stakeholders that makes events magic. And because event managers deliver magic so well, just about anyone thinks they can manage an event. Leave it to us experts... but be clear about what wizardly magic you want your event spell for.

Like an introspection coach

I unexpectedly have extra time, leading me to get very introspective. I’ve been drawn to this podcast, and it’s been like an introspection-coach as I listen through them over the course of a week or so. Each episode is thought provoking but leaves room for your own perspective. It’s the gentle encouragement of deep thinking I need.
