Favs From The Archives: ICU For Kids

Danielle is a paediatric intensive care nurse. That means she cares for children and their families at their worst point. Children who are sick, children who are abused, children who are dying. I think anyone who's able to take on this role deserves a medal. Danielle has seen the worst things children go through and still gets up every day to do it again.

Ali Kali is famous as the lactating porn star. Yep, she's known for squirting dudes in the face with her milk. But that's only a tiny part of why I wanted to talk to her. Her story is a wild ride involving addiction, sex work, child loss, and... meditation masturbation?

Collier was just an 11 year old boy when his father killed his mother. And Collier was not going to let him get away with it. This is part 1 of the incredible story of a newly orphaned child's relentless pursuit of justice and growing up being famous for all the wrong reasons.

Her brain works a little differently to ours and it's really fascinating to hear what it's like living with a condition that has you randomly presenting different parts of yourself, and is often quite stigmatised.

Awesome

Have loved your podcast for years now, thanks Zoe. An avid Deeper listener than really enjoys a new episode drop ~ never quite knowing what I’m going to learn about upon that commute to work! Cheers, Shen

Abit disappointed with the subscription

I absolutely love your podcast and have been listening to you for years! I recommend you to my friends but I’m getting a little confused and disappointed. I understand things come up, you have a family ect but the constant favs from the archive is getting annoying. I’m sure all the subscribers have already heard these before.

Current subscriber here…

Zoe, I have loved your podcast for as long as you’ve existed. Your guests are remarkable in so many ways and you treat them with compassion, non-judgment and provide a safe space. I am however a bit annoyed that you’ve mentioned on a few podcasts (not just your own) that The Deep is an Apple case study for how to monetise your business via subscriptions. I’m a current subscriber because I do love your content, however stating that episodes are released weekly but then for weeks in a row release ‘from the archives’ content is pretty disappointing. Avid listeners have heard these already. I’m not sure, but perhaps be a bit more up front of other life commitments (without going into too much detail) mean you cannot release a new episode every week. If there are multiple weeks in a row of releasing old interviews I’m not sure what we’re paying (the albeit small amount) for? Vary the subscription fee for slower months? I’m not sure? Perhaps I’m wrong?

I’m all for manifesting money or other things but I think if you’re not delivering what people are paying for on this platform, then things might move the other way and you’ll lose subscribers? Perhaps your career is going in a different direction and the podcast is fading out which is a-ok, but as a long time subscriber I thought I’d offer some honest feedback.

Thank you for all the work you have done to date - I can’t imagine how incredibly taxing it is for you.
