    Perhaps it makes sense to you—on an intellectual level, at least—that you have the power inside to find a way out of bingeing. Why, then, might that wise inner leadership have sometimes been absent? Different parts resort to different coping mechanisms—some of which might be harmful, such as binge eating. However, there is a way to lead these parts in a new direction and to heal negative behavior patterns—even those that seem deeply entrenched. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to Martha's podcasts. As someone who has struggled with binge eating for nearly 10 years, the true accounts of Martha's struggles resonate so much and I can only imagine the journey she has taken to reach this point of being able to share her story. Through sharing these accounts, I feel a renewed sense of hope that my struggle may one day end.
