Episode 34 - A preview of the Tim Burvill podcast

We interviewed Tim Burvill from the South Australian Cattle Company (SACC).  The SACC is a very interesting business that has a few moving parts to it. It has a couple of properties in the South East of South Australia where they run Cattle and a Feedlot, they have a wholesale dry-aged Beef company and a brand called Kings and Queens, which sells to select supermarkets.  They had a couple of restaurants in Adelaide and Melbourne, but exited those when they dissolved a partnership.  Tim recently got back from the US, and he used his time over there to observe how the industry is going and what that might mean for any future trends. He said he couldn’t have come back more positive as to where the direction of the Beef industry is headed here in Australia.  We spoke about the business of Beef, and he has a handle on what levers he might pull within his own business going forward. He is big on growth through partnerships and outlines some of the partnerships he already has in motion and what future partnerships might look like.  It was one of those interviews that turned into a conversation with Tim asking some questions along the way. Tim is one switched-on cookie and will no doubt grow his business into one of the most celebrated Cattle businesses in the nation (no pressure, Tim).  The Farmers Club podcast is now only available to our paid newsletter subscribers. Episode 33 - A preview of the Nikki Lyons podcast

Nikki Lyons just set a record for shearing 502 Merino Lambs (unmulesed ones, mind you) in a 9-hour working block with breaks in between. Nikki outlines in detail what she went through on the day and the preparation she put in before the event. It's a real team game, and Nikki relies on those around her, so she can fully focus on her job at hand and what's in front of her handpiece. With all due respect to the general Shearers out there, this stuff that Nikki is doing is 5 levels above and some. It's the AFL or NRL of Shearing. It's Group 1 stuff. These next-level Shearers are fully blown athletes, and the preparation that goes into one of these record attempts will blow your mind.  This is a fabulous interview with a very focused and determined Lady who is a real hero of the Shearing and Wool industries.  End of message. 3. SEASON 1, EPISODE 32 TRAILER

Episode 32 - A preview of the Pat Mangan podcast

Pat Mangan created the Farming tour industry in Australia through his business, Swagman Tours, which he started in 1987 and sold in 2020. It was a business that served the Farming industry very well because it got people off their Farms and onto other Farms where they picked up ideas that they could take home and experiment with. Pat is known as the guru of the Farm Tour industry. After he sold the business, he operated as a consultant to another travel company and still does that part-time role today. Pat was brought up on a Dairy Farm in Northern Victoria and started to get back into Farming by buying Farms in the rich Winchelsea area, South West of Geelong. He now runs the Farm, a Beef Cattle operation, this time around with his son and loves every minute of it. Pat is a talented man and, at some point, started making Stockcrates and sold over 100 under the Swagaman brand before calling it quits when he sold the main Swagman tours business. South Africa was the most interesting place he went to. It’s been the most fascinating and interesting life that Pat has led, and he is very grateful for the cards that he has been dealt. At the end of this podcast, we talk about a Farm tour he is promoting to Canada departing on July 10th, 2026. See the link to the tour here. Episode 30 - A preview of the Ken Solly podcast (part 2)

This is part 2 of the Ken Solly podcast preview.  We start out with a group of Ken's favourite sayings, some of which he is famous for amongst his clients and those who have attended events he has run and spoken at. We cover off on many aspects of the business of Farming as well as some Sheep industry happenings, which Ken is very passionate about. Ken also opens up about his person battles and how he has turned these negatives into positive outcomes. It's very brave of Ken to talk about what he has been through, and if it helps someone, then he has done well. Make sure you listen to part 1 first for context, and just a word of warning, there are some scratchy-type noises that run for the first 17 minutes, you might find a little annoying, but hey, it's all part of it. I hope you enjoy. End of message.  The Farmers Club podcast is now only available to our paid newsletter subscribers.
