Coronavirus conspiracies & compulsive sexual behaviour with psychologist Marcus Squirrell

Coronavirus conspiracies & compulsive sexual behaviour with psychologist Marcus Squirrell

This week we’re joined by queer psychologist Dr. Marcus Squirrell to discuss compulsive sexual behaviour, including its links to internalised homophobia and more frequent encounters of cheating, as well as how shame is experienced by people dealing with sexual compulsions during the pandemic. We also chat about Melbourne’s renewed coronavirus battle and some of the crazier COVID-related misinformation floating about (no, Bill Gates isn't using nasal swabbing tests to implant microchips into the back of your throat). And in this week's After Show we discuss Facebook's hate speech dilemma and the fall out of the Stop Hate For Profit campaign. A gay man's guide to life & new queer films with Paul Mizzi from The Swapcast Podcast

A gay man's guide to life & new queer films with Paul Mizzi from The Swapcast Podcast

This week we chat to queer author Britt East about his new book A Gay Man’s Guide To Life. We discuss the masks we wear to hide our true selves, how gay men use friendship with other gay men to find confidence, rampant racism in the gay community and the responsibility we have to learn about other members within the LGBT community. We’re also joined by Paul Mizzi from The Swapcast Podcast to chat to us about queer films that have flown under our radar over the last few years.

And in this week’s After Show we throw around our thoughts on All Stars 5 and Canada’s Drag Race.

    Trans-antagonism & small-town activism with George Foulkes-Taylor

    Trans-antagonism & small-town activism with George Foulkes-Taylor

This week we’re reconciling childhood affection for Harry Potter with the widely critiqued views of the trans community by its author J.K. Rowling. We discuss the dangerous ideas resonating with TERFS, trans-antagonism, and the misguided thinking of those relying on an unfounded idea about how trans people use bathrooms.

We also interview WA based artist and activist George Foulkes-Taylor about how queer outreach in rural communities fosters a sense of safety for queer people, what it means to have queer friends in remote locations, and the very real consequences of the same-sex marriage plebiscite in remote settings.

In this week's After Show we discuss how prostate cancer impacts the lives of men who have sex with men. Support the show and listen to over 40 After Shows by signing up at https://www.patreon.com/gaysrevoltingpod.

    Revolutionary Socialism with Roz Ward

    Revolutionary Socialism with Roz Ward

It's a shorter episode today, but we’re not holding back on all that juicy infotainment. This week we’re joined by Safe Schools Coalition co-founder, veteran LGBTI activist and Marxist Roz Ward. Roz chats to us about the Safe Schools program ten years on, understanding the capitalist system’s limitations for minority groups, and how trans and gender diverse kids are advocating for themselves.

Kyle's family pop in & Indigenous queer research with William Trewlynn

Kyle's family pop in & Indigenous queer research with William Trewlynn

All the girls stepping out for a family affair! This week we’re joined by Kyle's mother Patrizia and brother Tyrone to spill the tea about Kyle's wild teenage ways, Patrizia’s youth spent tearing up the gay clubs, and what it’s like living with a queer sibling. A huge kiss to Patrizia and Ty for coming in! We’re also joined by William Trewlynn, founder of BlaQ, a not-for-profit initiative for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQ+ community. He chats to us about wildly disproportionate incarceration rates for Indigenous people, a huge lack of data on issues relating to Indigenous members of the LGBT+ community, and unconscious bias in the police force.

    Support BlaQ at blaq.org.au.

In this week’s After Show Patrizia and Ty stick around for a game of ‘which gay son’!

Echo chamber of bland

Podcast is fast becoming a bit of an echo chamber. Considering they’ve gone out of their way to pick a representative “from every box” the sameness of views is getting very tedious.

Good chat and discussion

The boys pull a good show together, opinions and discussion about real life issues and offering the lGbtqi perspective
